IChemE Special Leaders Award for STEM – It’s all in the mix!

This an individual award open to Primary (5-11), Secondary (11-16) and Advanced (17-19) levels.

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) would like young people to discover the diversity of careers and opportunities this area of engineering offers.

The IChemE Special Leaders Award – as usual pupils will be required to send in an application to become a Leader for STEM for the school or college. To enter for this special award the interview that accompanies the application should have a specific dimension – and they differ slightly for each level.

Primary (5-11)     ‘How have chemical engineers helped us?’
Secondary (11-16)     ‘What inspires a chemical engineer?’
Advanced (17-19)     ‘What makes an chemical engineer?’

The chosen interviews: Three students, one from each level will be chosen from all the submitted interviews. A selection of interviews will be published on WHYNOTCHEMENG, Leaders Award and related industry and education websites and publications.
Primary (5-11)     will recieve £25
Secondary (11-16)    will recieve £25
Advanced (17-19)    will recieve £25,  and a site visit to a local Chemical Engineering Plant.
